I will collect the physical rocks, for instance, the shape or texture of the stone, the color of the mineral, density, and the hardness of the softness of the assigned rocks. |

Your Procedure · Find the minerals · Examine it physically to determine its texture and shape · Crush them to identify the inner color and visible characteristics · Determine the hardness and softness of the mineral · Weight the mineral · Calculate the density of the mineral What safety precautions will you follow? · I will put on gloves, so I do not handle the mineral directly · I will wear goggles to avoid the particle entering my eyes when crushing the minerals · I will cover my mouth not to swallow the particles · I will wash my hands after handling the mineral particles. · |
How will you analyze your data?

I will analyze my data physically and in the lab using a chemical in the reactors to determine the physical and chemical characteristics of the mineral elements. I will also compare the density of the mineral with conventionally established densities. |

My actual data will include the inner particles of the minerals, the density of the elements, chemical reaction results, chemical composition of the minerals, and physical appearance of the assigned minerals. |
Your Analysis of the Data

Data analysis indicates that one of the minerals is hard while the other is soft when crushed. One of the minerals is whitish, pink, or grey, while the other is brown or snowy white (Oelkers, 2018). One of the minerals readily reacts with chemicals in the reactors in the laboratory, while the other does not readily react with chemicals in the reactors in the laboratory. |
