Introduction

Mental health is a critical issue today.

Nurses dealing with issue lack skills

Nurses need to need to up-skill to deal with mental illness.

Mental health care is becoming a very emotive healthcare issue today that needs to be mitigated. In this way, it is only possible for the issue to be mitigated if the nurses dealing with people with mental illnesses have sufficient skills and knowledge to handle them.

Although patients with psychological disorders requires acute care, there is no need for a psychiatric nurse. However, there is need for nurses caring for people with mentally illness to be well equipped with proper skills to handle these patients.

To inquire on the matter we formulate PICO(T) question

PICO(T) is (p)population or patient ,intervention(I) issue of interest, (C)outcome interest(O) and time taken to realize the outcome(T) (Abbade et al., 2017).

In order to inquire on the matter, there is a need to formulate a clinical question to address (p)intervention(I) issue of interest, (C)outcome interest(O) and time taken to realize the outcome(T). This approach is referred to as PICO(T) format (Abbade et al., 2017).

P-this includes the population affected by mental illness

I-involves the intervention for the treatment of the patients

C-involve comparison for non-treatment as an alternative.

O-This analysis the outcome of patient treatment; how successful was the treatment

PICO(T) question is; what knowledge a nurse needs to have to enhance mental ill patients?

Four research databases

databases were utilized, and this includes;

MEDLINE, CINAHL, GOOGLE SCHOLAR , MEDLINE VIA PUBMED@UIC and COCHRANE LIBRARY

When carrying out research, it is essential to use scholarly sites simply because most scholarly works and Journal’s publications cannot be found on the google search engine. It is also vital to use resources published within the last five years (Supriyanto et al., 2019). While researching the clinical issue, several databases were utilized, and this includes; MEDLINE and CINAHL.

Various strategy in order to improve the effectiveness of searching data using my PICO(T) question. Some of these approaches include applying specific methods to retrieve evidence-based scholarly reviewed articles using scholarly websites.
