ODYSSEY PLAN

Introduction

An odyssey plan is a brainstorm about how one would like to have their life in the future (Ayela-Uwangue & Lande, 2017). The information provided below is an odyssey plan of me, a student wishing to pursue an accounting course.

1. What you think you want to do.

In ten years, I want to be a certified public accountant for the state. This means that I have to pursue a degree in accounting and a professional course in CPA. The degree period is four years, and the professional practice can last for three years if I pass all stages of the examination. I will combine my degree with my professional assessment. This implies intensive reading, time management, and having a sound mind to be a student and a university student. I am also a skilled swimmer, which means that I will be practising my swimming skills for the school contest in the academic year.

These tasks are not easy, but they are tiresome and need patience, endurance, and disinclined. This also means that I have to allocate my free time to studying and ensuring that my grades are okay. My parent is offering me full scholarship into the program and will guide me in achieving these goals. Caution money is used optimally to ensure that I have food on the table and pay rent for the hostel. The plan is to be an all-around student, and I plan to use my time as a clergyman in the school chapel. I believe that man's service is service to God.

2. What if Plan A fails?

If this plan fails as a result of financial stability, I will drop my professional course at the moment and pursue my degree. I will use my free time to do a part-time job near the school facility, such as working at a cafeteria, library, construction sites, and medical facility. Any place that offers me an opportunity to work part-time and has ethical rules is good enough. I will also engage in sporting activities during the weekend and earn a shilling with my swimming skills. I can also teach some of my fellow schoolmates how to swim at affordable prices to aid in my upkeep.

As for academics, I will apply to all government scholarship programs. Moreover, there are private organizations that can offer scholarship programs if I work part-time. I will apply in most organizations and use my skills to seek help in getting to know these organizations. I will talk to the dean of the institutions, who will offer more insights. A degree in accounts is significant to me as it will help me achieve my goal of being a certified accountant. This contingency plan will be successful, but I will hope that Plan A works.

3. What would you do if you didn't need to think about society or parents?

Society and parents are too demanding. They expect a lot from a learned student in the field of accounts. They require me to work hard in my studies, work in an accounting department of an institution, create jobs, or improve the living conditions of society. This has permanently barred me from achieving my dream as an artist. My skill in art entails photography. Ever since I was a toddler, I love mother nature, especially the forests and desert, and take pictures of wild animals. My parents forced me into accounting as they thought of it as a well-paying job.

If my parents or society were out of the picture, I would pursue a career in photography. I would learn from the greatest and best. Through apprenticeship, I will learn and go into the forest with the most outstanding animal photographers and maybe even get my work published in great Television shows such as Discovery and NatGeo Wild.
