My name is XXXX-XXXX; I am a student at Colorado Tech University working on a Doctor of Management degree in Organizational Development and Change. I am conducting a research study for my dissertation entitled, School Choice & Competition: What is the Impact of School Leadership. The purpose of the proposed qualitative research is to explore the differences between traditional and charter schools, as it relates to today’s leadership styles.

I am seeking your permission to conduct research at the Boys and Girls Club of St. Francis County, Arkansas. I would like to work with a team of ten key employees of the Boys and Girls Club organization who have been involved in qualitative research. Action research will be emphasized based on appreciative inquiry. I will conduct my work in two phases, (a) practice session and (b) actual research study. The practice session consists of a planning phase, action phase, and facilitation of the reflection phase. The next phase will consist of the new knowledge created during the cycle, and which of our findings, we feel will work best for the organization.

Also, participation in the study is voluntary. This means that participants may withdraw from the study at any time, even after initially indicating their willingness to participate in the study. Information about the organization and study participants will be kept confidential. Names of neither individuals nor information identifying the company will be used in the study.
