View a film and analyze abnormal behaviors of the characters through the lens of psychological science. Write at minimum four (4) pages that addresses each bullet point in the following prompt. Use class resources and concepts you learned from the course to support your explanations and arguments. Please be sure to address each of the prompts below (using headings for the separate prompts):

• Write a brief introductory section that identifies the film title, genre, and overall theme of the film.

• Describe accurate examples of the psychopathology of one of the main characters.

• Describe inaccurate examples of the psychopathology of that the main character. • Describe how these examples might influence counselors', clients', and the

general publics' beliefs about psychopathology. • Summarize how screenwriters and filmmakers could exercise sociopolitical

responsibility in addressing misconceptions and false beliefs.

Your paper must be in APA (7th edition) format (student version). Your sources must be properly cited both within text and in the reference list.

Content & Development

Poor 1 - Content is incomplete. - Major points are not clear and /or persuasive. - Little to no reference to abnormal psychology as depicted in the movie.

Good 2-3 - Content is accurate and persuasive. - Major points are stated. - Responses are adequate and address assignment. - Content and purpose of the writing are clear. References made to movie use some examples.

Excellent 4 - Content is comprehensive, accurate, and persuasive. - Major points are stated clearly and are well supported. - Responses are excellent, timely and address assignment including course concepts. - Content and purpose of the writing are clear. - References to examples are nicely integrated throughout the paper.

Organization & Structure

Poor 1 - Organization and structure detract from the message of the writer. - Paragraphs are disjointed and lack transition of thoughts. - Paper comes across as choppy.

Good 2-3 - Structure is mostly clear and easy to follow. - Paragraph transitions are present. - Conclusion is logical. - Somewhat choppy with some smooth transitions.

Excellent 4 -Structure of the paper is clear and easy to follow. - Paragraph transitions are logical and maintain the flow of thought throughout the paper. - Conclusion is logical and flows from the body of the paper.

Format

Poor 2 - Paper lacks many elements of correct formatting. - 4 page requirement is inadequate or excessive. - Paper is not in APA format. -References incorrectly formatted.

Good 3 - Paper follows designated guidelines. - Paper is 4+ pages long. - APA format is good, but not always accurate. - References are basically formatted correctly.

Excellent 4 - Paper follows all designated guidelines. - Paper is 4+ pages long. -Format enhances readability of paper and follows APA format very well.

Grammar, Punctuation, Spelling

Poor 1 - Paper contains numerous grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors. - Language uses jargon, slang or conversational tone. - Uses "I" or "me" throughout the paper.

Good 2 - Rules of grammar, and punctuation are followed with minor errors. Spelling is correct. - Language is mostly professional and uses little reference to conversational topics.

Excellent 3 - Rules of grammar, usage, and punctuation are followed; spelling is correct. - Language is clear and precise; sentences display consistently strong, varied structure. - Professional language is used throughout the paper.
