It is 15 March 2009 and this will be you 4th OPORD for the year.

Your Commander has asked you to reference the following manuals for the upcoming field exercise.

Warrior tasks and drills

The commander wants to use time zone India throughout the Order

The commander wants the following groups included in the OPORD

HQ

Northern Platoon

Treatment Platoon

Southern Platoon

We will be working with the USFK Forces (South Korea)

His mission is that the 618th Dental Company will conduct semi-annual field training exercise from 15 April – 20 April 09 at Training Area CFA, Camp Humphreys, in order to build soldier confidence in Army warrior skills and equipment.

His intent is to have 100% participation in training. Conduct training with zero safety incidents. This FTX will focus on the Army Warrior Tasks (AWT), EFMB tasks, Range Qualification, and the BC Chamber. This FTX is not connected to the OPLAN

He wants to do this in 5 phases:

Phase I: Pre-deployment

Phase II: Deployment

Phase III: Operation/Training

Phase IV: Re-deployment

Phase V: Recovery

1. Lay-out, inspect, and inventory equipment to include tents, vehicles, personal gear, and dental equipment to ensure accountability and serviceability. Prepare, inspect, and provide load plans for each vehicle and trailer prior to the FTX. Conduct necessary pre-FTX training to ensure personnel are prepared for the FTX as per the Training Calendar. Conduct pre-combat checks on soldier’s equipment. Specified tasks will be completed NLT April 1.

The Operations section will be responsible for overall coordination within 618th elements and

External organizations. Provide OPS NCOIC with Battle Rosters NLT March 30

IPRs will be held as needed.

2. (16 APR 09) Alert will be initiated by Commander/First Sergeant

All personnel will report to designated assembly areas for 100% accountability. Convoy Commanders will conduct safety briefing before heading to training site. Units will arrive at the Training Site NLT 1400 on 16APR 09. Upon Arrival Headquarters will establish the Tactical Operations Center.

3. All units will conduct defensive protection. ECP operations, CBRN training, Weapons qualifications, Warrior tasks and drills until end of FTX.

4. Each platoon will depart for garrison NET 1000 on 20 APR 09. Units are not released until given permission by OPS. Recovery operations will begin immediately upon return to Garrisons

5. Recovery will be done at individual clinic locations according to SOP. Platoon Sergeants will submit AARs to OPS OIC (Annex-A) NLT 30 APR 09.

Additional things for the Dental Clinic NCOIC:

Dental Clinic NCOICs: Block off all patient schedules for the duration of the exercise. Lay out and inspect all field equipment and coordinate with Supply prior to field problem. Send Battle Roster to OPS OIC and NCOIC NLT 3 APR 09.

Additional things for the headquarters platoon:

Establish and maintain the company Command Post and Battle Rhythm (CP). Establish unit CP, supply tent, and sleep tent. Provide NBC support for the Company. Provide unit admin support for the Company. Establish and maintain unit guard rosters. Provide unit level maintenance support. Be prepared to provide personnel for ADVON party activities. Coordinate for the pick-up of meals. Coordinate for all other classes of supply and services as mission dictates. Provide sleep area for attached personnel. Obtain convoy clearance. Coordinate for daily trash pick

Up. Coordinate for latrines to be delivered to the site and daily cleaning. Provide logistics support to the Company. Provide one mess tent.

Additional things for the Northern Platoon:

Provide Strip map from Area I to training Area CFA. Be prepared to provide personnel for security. Be prepared to provide personnel for ADVON party activities. Establish Platoon’s area of operation and sleep tent. Be prepared to provide personnel for rear detachment to continue armistice health support. 5 gallon fuel tanks with fuel. Obtain convoy clearance.

Provide one CLS. Provide one Range NCOIC

Additional things for the Treatment Platoon:

Provide Strip map from Area II to training Area CFA. Establish Platoon’s area of operation and sleep tent. Be prepared to provide personnel for security. Be prepared to provide personnel for rear detachment to continue Armistice health support. 5 gallon fuel tanks with fuel. Obtain convoy clearance.

Additional things for the Southern Platoon:

Provide Strip map from Area IV to training Area CFA. Be prepared to provide personnel for security. Establish Platoon area of operation and sleep tent. Be prepared to provide Personnel for rear detachment to continue to provide Armistice Health Care Support.

Provide one CLS. 5 gallon fuel tanks with fuel. Obtain convoy clearance. Provide one Range OIC.

Things that need to be coordinated:

Type out, as well as number and publish the OPORD so everyone can receive and execute the order.

Risk reduction control measures:

Prepare risk assessment for FTX

Conduct safety briefings prior to the FTX, convoy operations, and

Major training events.

Conduct After Action Reviews after every significant training event to evaluate and identify unit weaknesses.

Platoon Sergeants will contact Operations for any additional coordination or RFIs

Equipment: See Annex B for Packing List.

Provide two soldiers to teach Army Warrior Task Classes

Provide Operations NCO with completed Battle Roster NLT 3 APR

The units will need to consider the following - supply/maintenance/services/medical

General: Company supply will coordinate for provisions of material and services.

Transportation: Organic unit assets will be used. Use of external assets must be authorized by the commander. Maintenance of vehicles will be provided by the 618th Dental Co (AS) maintenance section. Operators perform “Before” PMCS prior to SP IAW TM 9-2320-280-10. Upon arrival at destination, operators perform “After” PMCS IAW TM 9-2320-280-10 and each morning after stand to. Field Mess will be conducted during this exercise. A hot meal will be provided for breakfast and dinner. MRE will be provided for lunch. Fuel support will be provided at CP Humphreys fuel point. Sick call hrs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday will be 0630-0730, (Urgent Car Clinic DSN: 753-

8311). Sick Call will report to TOC NLT 0600 every morning. Real World injuries will be transported to the Camp Humphrey’s TMC. Camp Humphrey’s TMC telephone number is 753-8311. Ambulance support is available by calling the CP Humphrey’s Urgent Care Clinic.

Call signs will not be used. Emergency phone numbers: MP Station 753-6600/6601. Camp Humphrey’s Health Clinic 753-8111. Area III Range Control 754-6374. Motorola Radios will be used as the preferred communications device. We will have a non-secure telephone and fax. We will not have a Challenge & Password. Bi-daily required reports to 618thDental Company (AS) TOC are Sensative Item Reports, Personnel Daily Summary, and Logistics Report. All reports are due each morning NLT 0700 and 1900.
