Non-profit Organization Structure and Communication
For every organization globally, either non-profit or profit-based companies have to ensure prompt and visionary leadership to either sell a product or service. Today, major non-profit organizations are defined by their ability to maintain a competitive advantage and company image against their peers in the business. SCS Pooled Trust is a non-profit organization that provides disabled persons of any age preserve their income and assets to enable them to retain one’s financial ability for services such as health care via Medicaid, and living expenses such as rent, mortgage, and utility bills. There are crucial aspects in any organization that depict the outline and effectiveness of the services offered, such as the management structure and ensuring ongoing effective lines of communication, both internally, and externally with all of their clients.
Leadership
Varying types of board managements head different non-profit-based organizations. As for SCS Pooled Trust, the business is headed by an advisory board model. This type of model is a very effective board management headed by the Trustees of the organization. The organization has three regional offices, and as a result, each regional office is represented by the board of directors. This allows the business to understand the state and effectiveness of each branch to deliver their services within the local communities that each branch represents. The board additionally includes stakeholders and internal representatives, or employees that work for SCS Pooled Trust.
SCS, as a non-profit-based organization, knows that it is crucial that those who hold management roles within the organization represent the local communities, from where they come from, and from where they provide their services to in regard to the clients within the local community. As for SCS Pooled Trust, the organization retains its employees due to the limited human capital and trust gained by long-term serving employees.
The organization currently has over 26 employees across its three branches (Rocketreach, nd). Some work from home and rarely visit the physical offices, while others do work within the office full-time. An executive manager with several departments heads and oversees these three branches. Human resource management for non-profit-based organizations is guided by fluctuating financial budgets; hence, for SCS pooled trust, hiring is decided rather than the businesses' affordable human capital. The organization completely utilizes its employees through customer support and community service, with each department's task clearly outlined.
A non-profit organization's success is somewhat similar to that of a profit-based organization, but all depends upon the leadership strategies. The well-equipped but few employees that SCS has managed to utilize may be small, but they still ensure that quality services are provided in every way imaginable. The board of SCS has strategized its service provision by utilizing the federal government policy (500) (3)c, which gives trust to its clients (SCS pooled trust services, 2021).
The organization utilizes the partnership with New York to offer health services to the old or disabled. As people trust the government, this same trust is given to the organization, ensuring continued operation and grants or donations to support its operations. There is weakness in its organizational structure as there is no concise approach to handling both volunteers and its staff compared to the public. The business tends to put all focus on the client rather than both staff and volunteers. This can be detrimental to the success of the organization, if not taken care of quickly and properly to ensure that the business continues to flourish and not drown amidst growing competition.
Communications
Through the organization's web platform, there is a clear and concise approach to customer support. The business, through the platform, has created and publicly displayed its contact information, hence creating various options for the public to reach the organization. As the business has three regional branches, there is a constant internal mode of communication between all branches' management to maintain updates and running the organization. The business is portrayed on various social media websites and has a customer support department to handle external communication. Clients are also assigned a representative whom they would contact for any and all questions or concerns, and the processing of all transactions on their account from the funds that are added monthly.
As the business also offers disabled persons and the elderly financial health services, via programs such as home health care, the company has put it various measures for braille communication and sign language for existing and potential customers. There is an additional support system for different types of persons in New York with varying language barriers. The use of various communication modes helps the organizations develop o close and trustable relationship with its volunteer, donors, staff, and clients. It additionally maintains the business goals and objectives by ensuring the promotion of business values.
Conclusion
Non-profit organizations ensure their continued operation through a consistent and dependable public relation. SCS Pooled Trust's website has been designed to be easily understandable and usable while trying to maintain an all-rounded platform for different age sets. On the website, one can see images of elderly persons in the background who are seemed to be happy with the services received by trusting the organization. SCS has developed various posters showing persons of different races and ages all happy and satisfied with the services offered. There are posters having some images of disabled persons in a wheelchair with their families who the non-profit organization has also helped.
SCS has also provided a platform and link on their website for persons to contact the trust department to inquire on all services offered at the organization. This creates an excellent external link between the organization and the public in services offered and increases consumer trust in the organization. Both employees and the public can create accounts on their website to help clients manage their finances and view all transactions online.
Any organization's success is strongly based on the decision-making choices made by all members of management to manage business processes such as communication and support strategies relevant for daily business running. Leadership strategies associated with marketing, human resource management and planning, external stakeholders, volunteers, and organization partners such as hospitals and the government must portray the business as trustworthy and dependable. At SCS, it is essential to ensure business structure and communication effectively to benefit all its clients and maintain constant stakeholder trust. Failure to adhere to this would see them lose clients who will take their services elsewhere, as well as losing future clients. For word of mouth, and the ability to leave online reviews, be it positive or not, will greatly affect the success of the organization.
