Directions: Read the assigned story at least twice. Complete the sections below.
Some useful terms:
fiction = a work (= short story; novel; film) of a writer’s imagination
characters = the “actors” in the story
plot = the series of events that are the foundation of a story
plot summary = a sentence that states the title, author, main character(s), and a summary of the two or three most important events in the story. For example: In “Cinderella” by Charles Perrault, a young woman is treated badly by her family, but thanks to magic, she marries a prince.
I. As you read, make a list of observations about the story. Make at least 4 (four) observations. For example: Who is the most important character? Where does the story take place?
