The Echo Boomers Food

Thesis Statement (one sentence): The food that most represents my childhood and generation are Uncle Benz rice (an imported type of rice)

I. My generation is the Y Generation. Born in the year between 1981-2000, which is also known as the echo boomers. And we are the generation that has great expectations for themselves

A. Uncle Benz rice was the food that really represented my generation. Coming from an African country Nigeria, it was a special food that every child in my generation was eager to eat because it was an imported food.

B. It was really a scarce product, so it was always termed that only the rich could afford it. Whenever you get the opportunity to have “Uncle Benz” rice in your house, its always like you are very lucky.

C. Apart from the fact that it was a scarce commodity, the reason why children of my generation were always eager to want to eat it is because it tastes better than even our local Nigerian rice. The local Nigerian rice has stones, so people really don’t like it as much as the imported rice which was really the talk of the town in my generation.
