Assignment: Preparing an Officer Selection and Training Process

100 Points

Each student is to prepare and submit an officer selection and training program for organization officers. Students may use information from organizations they are currently members of/in, please change the name of the organization to protect the group’s privacy. The project should include the following sections: Introduction; Nomination, Selection and Election Procedures; Duties and Responsibilities of Officers; Officer Training/Development Activities scheduled on a yearly, as well as, monthly basis.

Criteria

I. General Appearance/Format (10) – Does the assignment follow this rubric?

II. Introduction (10) – Outlines the purpose of an election and training program for officers/executive committee members.

III. Election Procedures (25)

A. Selection (how will you deem potential candidates eligible for positions of leadership)

B. Nomination (will you have a nomination process for eligible candidates, if so, what will it be/look like)

C. Election (which of the three election formats will you use to elect leaders)

IV. Officer Duties and Responsibilities (20)

A. President

B. Vice-President

C. Secretary

D. Treasurer

E. Reporter

V. Officer Training/Development Activities (25)

A. Yearly (annual training for officers will include….)

B. Monthly (monthly training for officers at the local level will include….)

VI. Form/Style/Grammar (10)
