General Comments:
1) Global: Spell check and grammar check. Watch out for verb tense agreement with subject (past, present, plural, singular).
2) Syntax (order of words) is getting better but still needs a bit of work.
3) Organization: One strategy might be to write about the covid case in a few paragraphs then write about the ebola case is a few cases. Finish with one or two paragraphs contrasting the response of each country/place.
4) Content needs work: I realize that you were not born in American so discussing cultural factors that infleunced how people responded to disease is dicciutl. Here’s what you might try: You could discuss how your home country might have dealt with these same challenges. How did your home country respond to the Covid outbreak, what cultural factors helped with the response effort? How would you home country deal with an ebola outbreak? You are right both viruses were originally transmitted by animals. In west Africa people come into contact with infected animals by eating wild meats. In China, Covid is believed to have emerged from wet markets where bats were being sold. Can the use of wild animals from food and wet markets be curbed? Or is this so ingrained in culture as a tradition that it cannot be changed?
5) Along the same lines: focus on cultural factors (belief systems) and avoid repetition. There is plenty to discuss here. You keep mentioning misinformation as a factor in the spread of the Corona virus. But what cultural factors are at work here? Americans, for example, believe their individual rights are violated by mandates requiring face masks. They argue that this is a violation of their constitutional rights. Too the president has made this a political issue. In west Africa, there is mistrust of western medicine largely because of the colonial past. These are issues you can discuss. Be specific and refer to specific instances.
When a new pandemic strikes, it usually getshits the people unaware and not unprepared. When Ebola and Corona virus struck, people responded differently. The response to the virus was greatly affected by the cultural beliefs of the people. The viruses required scientific ways of compacting (?) the spread of the disease. Considerations Policies and responses were not putting place on how to deal with howthe cultural beliefs influence the spread of disease. In some communities, The scientific ways views of disease were not accepted and treatments faced some resistance in some communities. It was against their religious and cultural practices (rather vague?). These responses were challenges that prevented the containment of the virus in time. In West Africa, the cultural beliefs of some communities negatively affected the spreading and containment of Ebola. The affected people considered to used their traditional (what do you mean by practiced here? Use specific examples) practices. This facilitated further spread of the virus to more and more. People responded to the infectious disease by visiting there (?) traditional healers. People in the affected communities failed to comply with the given guidelines that were set so as to contain the spread of the virus. People went on with their cultural practices (avoid vague redundancy). They feared to go against their cultural beliefs this was mainly because people spent most of the time around community members and families and did not want to show a different response. )?)
When the first case of Corona virus was discovered in United States, there was miscommunication from the government. President Trump said that it was just a small issue and it was to disappear soon. The seriousness of the virus was not effectively communicated during the early stages of the virus. People did not take the disease seriously took the disease lightly. Clear information on how to avoid disease transmission was not giving to the public. Some poeple said it was very rare for asymptomatic transmission of the virus to happen, but they were wrong. There was also some confusing communication that contradicteds the medical facts. Most of theMany people believed what the president said instead of the doctors and scientists (why do you think they did that?).This resulted to fast spread of the virus. People started to believe the was real when it was too late and lots of people has had already contacted the virus. The overload of information as the virus was new (? Not clear what you mean here). The overload caused panic and miscommunication as there was too much information to handle (so you have already discussed miscommunication, contrast this point to what you have said before, make it different). The situation spreading of the virus worsened due to miscommunication. There was contradiction between the information the president gave and the facts that the doctors said about the virus (again this is repetitive). The situation was getting worse since the symptoms of the virus were asymptomatic, people would get the virus and transmit it without them knowing.(Shikhar Chohan U Venkatesh Krishan Rajbhar. 2020).
(So here you switch to the ebola case-make that clear). In West AfricaThe body of an Ebola victim is highly infctious.According to the West African culture, people had to was the body of the dead and spend time with it boo giving it a proper burial (?). The death of their healer caused a chain of reaction of the virus during their burial practices. The people only believed in traditional healing. (?)
Ebola was believed to have come from animals. The people believed that they have lived in the area since their ancestors and were hunting the same wild animals and had never got sick from eating the animals (not clear what you mena here). This cultural belief led to the fast spread of the Ebola virus to the communities. When the people were sick, they relied only on traditional medicine which was not working. People only went to the hospitals when more people started to die it was too late, the virus had already spread.(Squire, A. O. 2015).
Many in tThe West African community only believed that they can only be cured by their traditional healers (and there is distrust of western medicine). And (avoid starting sentences with “And” it is not a widely accepted practice) preferred to cure treat their families at home instead of going to the hospitals. In their beliefs, death could not be avoided and it was better for a person to die before their loved ones. (?) These cultural practices led more families spread the virus through contact and people continued to die. With time, every household was contracting the virus and more began to understand that keeping their patient home was more dangerous.
The main similarities of the two viruses were that people were caught unaware. They were not prepared. At first, the virus was perceived to be a small issue that was just passing; people did not take the virus seriously until the fatality rate increased. The right information was not given to the people early enough and the virus spread fast without people knowing. People were resistant to the guidelines that were put in place to succumb and contain the viruses. They continued with their practices as usual until things started to get serious. The difference the two viruses is that Ebola affected the western Africa while corona virus was worldwide, the symptoms to the two viruses was different. People responded very differently to the virus. The people in West Africa during the outbreak Ebola, they remained with their cultural practices, they believed in their traditional healer. Bboth of tthe viruses are believed to have originated from animals and could be transmitted through contact. People responded to the virus when it was too late and many people had already contracted the virus .(Richards, P. 2016).
