This mass was conducted by Father David O’Leary who ministers in Good Shepherd Parish. The Parish is located in Wayland, MA. The episode was an ordinary mass being conducted.

2. The Gist

This is a women’s talk show hosted by Danielle Bean and other women who feature guests from across the world and initiate talks on life, family, faith, and the existing events. This program features a one-on-one interview with the administrator of Civil Rights for the Unborn, Alveda King, and a report of the visitation house.

The Roman Catholic

Due to the COVID -19 pandemic, the Roman Catholic Church has changed the way they are doing things. The churches are being held online due to government restriction that has banned all social gatherings with the church included. The Catholics take sacrament which at the moment is not being given. The church has holy water at the door and believe in the use of rosary while saying a prayer.

Christian Denomination

The Catholics are a part of the Christian denomination since their faith is based on the life story and teachings of Jesus Christ. They also believe in the afterlife. The Roman Catholics differentiate from the other Christians since they believe in a pope who is based in France. And they believe that he is the one who took over as the head of the church after peter who had been appointed by Jesus Christ. Their faith varies with other Christians due to their belief in their apostolic succession.

Respectful Actions

The first action of respect taken when visiting a new place is accepting and upholding people’s way of life. This includes the way they dress. The way they chant their prayer and the way they behave while entering the church. This means that you have to learn all this and respect their places of worship by doing as they do. Another respectful action is respecting and not judging their faith.

Theories/Concepts

The Roman Catholic uphold and respect the theory of the origin of Christianity. They believe in God and the holy trinity and more to this they believe in life after death. The Catholics also read from the bible which they believe is the holy book which they follow. However, the Catholics believe more in the New Testament than the Old Testament.

The concept of apostolic succession makes Catholics different from the other Christian denomination. They tend to believe more in Jesus and they go through him to reach God the father. This is demonstrated by the large sculpture of Jesus at the front of their church and regularly mentioning him in their prayer. Catholics also believe and talk more about Mary who is the mother of Jesus who is a link between them and Jesus.

Religion and Public Life

According to the Pew Research Center, the Americans feel that religion and religious activities are slowly losing their influence in the lives of the people. The influence of religion is either positive or negative. The Catholics have integrated their system to almost resemble a political system which some Christians believe is not right. Church should not involve itself in politics. The Catholics also live a different social life form other Christians due to their belief. For example, the practice of eating meat is different from other Christians.

Reasons for studying this religion

I chose this religion for study since it is interesting in their practices such as offering of Holy Communion and their beliefs in the Holy Mary. This experience of observing, fellowshipping in the Diocese would be a new and exciting one. This religion is also popular around the around and is practiced by many. In my own opinion, they are also very unique out of all the other Christians.
