EDU 262 Chapter 10 Participation Activity

Nutrition, Health and Safety Checklist

As the administrator in a program of early care and education, your very first responsibility is to keep children safe, to protect them from harm, and to provide a variety of nutritious foods to support children’s growth and development.

Checklists can be an effective tool for an administrator to quickly monitor the various aspects of the Nutrition, Health, and Safety environment operation, daily, weekly, or monthly.

Create your daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring checklists to ensure a good nutritional, healthy and safe childcare environment. Each checklist should consist of 10 monitoring items. Read textbook chapter 10 to learn about what aspects of the Nutrition, Health, and Safety environment need to be consistently monitored. Each checklist should contain close to even number of areas to monitor between three environments (Nutrition, Health, and Safety).
