The Nurses’ Health Study

and Nurses’ Health Study

II are among the largest

investigations into the risk

factors for major chronic

diseases in women.

The success of the studies would not have been

possible without our participants, who have

made important contributions to scientific

knowledge and public health

advancements through their participation.

From the original Nurses’ Health Study

established in 1976, the studies are now in their

third generation with Nurses’ Health Study 3

(learn how to join) (http://www.nhs3.org/) and

count more than 280,000 participants.
