You have done well identifying the independent variable in the PICO presented. The independent variable is the treatment variable and the dependent variable is the outcome (Houser 2018). Refusal of immunization is just one outcome - another outcome is agreement. Therefore the dependent variable would be immunization status.

When discussing sampling, I am assuming you meant to say participants or subjects not topics. In your post you mention hypothetical generations. Can you explain what this means?
