What knowledge is necessary to carry out your job or commitment to your clients or mentees?
1> One must understand the difference between child learning and adult learning
2> Adult learning within different industries- most adults think “what’s in it for me”
3> Must be able to deliver training in different ways to the different levels of mentees
4> One must try to get to the 3rd and 4th level of training when working with each group
5> You must find the mainstream and terminal objective
What skills are needed?
1) One must know the way the company works and what each step it takes to get to each level
2) Must have the ability to assess training needs within the staff and the different levels they learn
3) A passion for learning everything you can- constantly watching webinars and going to seminars. ( always learning to sharpen the saw)
4) Learning how to keep dinamics interesting across the board
5) Cretical thinking and innovative thinking
6) Very efficient
7) Must be able to communicate well and be able to get along with every style of personality
8) Must be able to know the difference between training and mentoring
What techniques do you utilize?
9) One must speak to understand instead of speak to be heard
10) Make sure you are always look at the characteristic of the person you are speaking to and working with
11) Analyzing the area that needs to be worked on
12) Sitting with the mentee and supervisor to get a game plan of what needs to be worked on
What theory grounds the work you do?
13) Gather a group of people or team
14) Come up with a mission statement for what you are wanting to work on
15) Work on the goals you want to see accomplished with the team
16) Find out what the objectives are
How would you compare the work that you carry out to that of an executive coach?
· Current title of position is Director of Operations of excelance for the Texas/Arkansas region
· Works with HR and talent management to try and keep consistency through all employees
· Work with training all regional executives
What best practices can you share with respect to your field?
