NoJax Company Communication

“Identify perceived barriers within the management structure that may hinder the process of communication”

Communication is the procedure of interacting meaningfully among human beings. More explicitly, it refers to a process whereby comprehension gets reached and meanings are superficial among individuals. Also, it is basically the lifeline of any business. Anything going wrong with communication can dearly cost a company. Managers, including of NoJax company usually complain concerning their utmost problems is breaking down communication. As NoJax's organizational behavior consultant, I have realized that there are various barriers in their system of communication which prevent a message from getting to the receiver. Some of these barriers are:

i. Attitudinal barrier

This comes out as a consequence of the workers in NoJax company. Limitations in distrusted sources, pre-conceived notions, understanding, intelligence, mental and physical ability forms mechanical barriers as well as divide attention of the employees thus impacting the opinion and attitude. The matrix structure of NoJax there is a problem of the two or many bosses that leave the members of a project getting caught in the middle (Ghobadi, & Mathiassen, 2016).

ii. Interpersonal barrier

Obstacles from the management is lack of trust in their workforce, different experiences, shortage of the time given to workers, information overload, lack of co-operation and lack of motivation. The matrix structure promotes poor relationships of the managers and the employees because the members of a project could play their bosses against each other.

iii. Organizational barrier

Such barriers consist of: poor company’s complexity, relationships, status, regulations, climate, culture and inadequate opportunities of improvement and growth. From the NoJax Inc. policy, we learn that there are numerous disagreements that are between department and product managers which take place occasionally. Despite such barriers, the company is yet to develop clear processes of mediation (Govindan, et.al, 2014).

iv. Individual barrier

These barriers may result from personal discomfort and individual perception. Different managers from NoJax company have diverse selective perceptions, mindedness and styles. For instance, Orlando Grant is highly open while Anam Basra has a low level of openness.

v. Cultural barrier

Having managers from diverse backgrounds could be a barrier since all of them have been living different lives. For instance, Alice Bloom being Caucasian and Janet Johnson being African American, they both have dissimilar retention and attention towards their work.

“What are potential problems that management may have when communicating with employees?”

As most companies endeavor to ensure diversification, there is usually an upsurge in the amount of challenges. Managers of NoJax company face more than just a single problem which could arise in their departments among the team or employees. The main reason of such problems is a channel of communication that is weak. The issues of workers could be oriented on the structure of the company, personal trauma, personal conflicts, supervisor issues (Taylor et.al, 2018).

i. Lack of consistency and cohesion.

NoJax company managers are expected to offer feedback that improves cohesiveness in the company. They ought to handle issues with their teams in the right way through taking action immediately and finding an explanation for a specific problem.

ii. Novel technology

According to the background document of NoJax company, they usually outsource all their distribution and manufacturing products. If the company tries to adapt new technologies and try incorporating project execution, timeline and a plan, everyone would be on board with this technology thus making their distribution much easier.

“Based on the culture of the company and management backgrounds, what do you think may be obstructing communication? Support your thoughts with relevant evidence from the company background.”

NoJax Inc. is an American company which is somewhat small that manufactures and designs specialized accessories, clothing and athletic shoes. Communication is an essential element in the workplace since it fosters interaction which is meaningful between the managers and team members. The process is particular and gleans better perception and understanding among persons. From the NoJax Inc. document, some factors impeding communication include:

i. Language barriers

The company has workers who have diverse languages which is not English and those who speak another language. For instance, Lynn Bryant is Caucasian, Jessie Mercado is Hispanic, and Orlando Grant is African American. With these and other diverse races, there is a number of employees who might have difficulty in interpreting the messages of other workers as well as conveying their communications. Managers of the company should therefore exercise patience and take time to train and educate their workers (Yule, 2016).

ii. Attitude

For instance, if an employee becomes argumentative, this can obstruct communication. NoJax company therefore ought to come up with methods of evaluating employees on how best they handle such cases. Also, we see that the company has no retirement or investment plans for their workers. This move could lead their staff to have a low morale while working, facilitating them not to comfortably communicate with their bosses.

Conclusion

It is significant that NoJax Inc. offers their employees with admittance to certain resources such as accessing their bosses without difficulty. Let the personnel be aware of what is expected of them. As the managers of the company, one should be good at listening and encourage the same quality to the workers. Attentiveness and good listening skills is a recipe for good communiqué within any place of work, including NoJax company.
