Running for an Office
On the November election, Candidates spend a lot of money on a campaign to win their party. The amount that a candidate spends per vote depend on how much a candidate fundraises, how much a candidate spends and, how many votes a candidate receives. For most of the times, depending on the amount of money they spent per vote, there is more chance of winning (Essig, Chris, et al). For example, Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa from district 20 spent $3.30 per vote and got a higher vote than other candidates for Texas Senate (Essig, Chris, et al). However, It is not always necessary to spend money on a campaign to win the Donald Trump presidential’s campaign spent half of money than Hillary Clinton’s (Essig, Chris, et al). That means there are some other factors also which can help to win even without spending money. Sometimes, it depends on factors like a candidate entering a general election contest with better name recognition or the right party affiliation for that district didn’t have to spend much money at all. (Essig, Chris, et al)
In order to run for an office, it is very important to have budget for campaign. I can raise money from different media keeping in mind about the campaign finance laws. I can raise money by different ways. I will start from my personal savings, and ask my family members, close friends to donate some money for the campaign. I can start fundraising by letting people know that is for a good cause and can further do more after election. I can organize different programs in order to raise funds from different people. Most of the donation for campaign will be from party and I can also find big donors from different media.
Interest groups play an active role in certain party to help them win or to lose depending upon the support and rejection they get from the party. I have mainly focused on the issues of employment and rights of employees and housing problems. Interest groups that will support my campaign be Texas public employee Association and Texas Association of Realtors. As Texas public employee Association is concerned with the right of employees to work freely in the workplace and also get opportunities to work (“The Voter's Self Defense System”). Texas is huge and often times employment has become real issues and employees are having so many problems in their workplace. Therefore, it helps to solve all the problems regarding employment. Whereas Texas Assocation for Realtors helps promote private-property ownership and helps to connect and convey information to the consumer and the real estate industry (“The Voter's Self Defense System”). As the population of Texas is increasing, there might be a lot of problems regarding housing and it is very important to have a good housing situation. The interest groups that might oppose my campaign could be the Texas gun owner of America and Immigration Reform Coalition of Texas(“The Voter's Self Defense System”). I am totally against keeping guns for the sake of protection. Recently we hear about different news about the gun shooting at public places like school. It greatly affects the students and other people’s lives, whereas immigration is a deep rooted issue in case of Texas. I am strict about the illegal immigrants and because of that it might oppose my campaign.
My campaign slogan is “To Assure Continued Prosperity in a Free Economy by a Free People” simply because that is the key to success. By ensuring people continued prosperity and to work in a free market, they can work freely with a pride based on demands and supply as government has no restriction on it. They do not have to worry about others.
Here’s my campaign sign:
In order to get out the vote, I will reach out different advertisement media like newspaper as it is considered as one of the most effective ways to advertise the campaign for the vote. Newspaper are cheaper and reach out faster to the public faster. Nowadays, Social media have become very popular among people of all ages. So, That might work as effective media to reach people for votes. I should target on voters group of young to middle age group. As they are more concerned about the living in dignity from the free economy market. They will know better about the problem of employee as they fall under working group. It will reduce their problems and help me get more vote if I target that age group.
