Subject: How to establish credibility at the beginning of your presentation

As the previous research, it is noticed that our department have communication issues. Today, this memo would like to report the problem of how to establish credibility at the beginning of your presentation. This report discusses the issue that many employees have when they are presenting in front of audience and the four tips for building their credibility.

Problem statement

The employees can not do their best and show their profession when they are presenting in front of audience. As a result, our company is less competitive with other companies and loses a large of market share. Our company cannot gain the audience’s trust and sale our products If our employees do not show their credibility and confidence. In this case, we need to train our employees to make sure what they say can make audience believe and improve the company’s image.

Statement of purpose

To address this issue, this report would recommend four suggestions to establish employees’ credibility. these suggestions include quote professional sentences; make eye contact; dress professional; connect with your audience. The rest of this report would clarify these tips specifically and give examples to demonstrate them.

Quote professional sentences: use famous people’s quotation or scientific data to prove your argument. Audience is more convinced of promises that are supported by large amounts of data or have been agreed by authority. For example: if a person with unknown tells you that lighters are invented before matches, you may think that person is crazy, and it is impossible to invent lighter before matches. However, based on the record, “lighters are invented in the 16th century out of nothing more than a converted flintlock pistol and it was until 1826 that a man by the name of John Walker from England invented the first actual match”. So audience can really know the reason and understand your argument.

Make eye contact: eye contact can build your confidence. A speaker with evasive eyes will not be trusted by people.

Dress professional: as employees in a company, it is necessary for them to dress professional. It not only represents the person image, but also represents the professionalism of our company. Our clients can know the company culture and respect from the employees’ outlooks.

Connect with your audience: a good speech has to accept questions from audience. Questions from audience can reflect their understandable and acceptance. Speakers can establish credibility and enhance the customer’s sense of trust in products and satisfaction with the company.
