The Retail Store - Project Scope
Project Description and Background
The Retail Store project is aimed at providing the company with a master plan with which it will use to ensure that at all times it is achieving its annual target of $5000000. It improves the lives of ten low-income communities, expands its core products by 10%, broadening its store size by 10% and lastly open a new store outside the state within five years. This is part of its mission and vision. Through its mission, the company would like to give its customers the ultimate convenience, the quality of the products to be at unbeatable prices. Similarly, in line with its vision, which states that the store targets to be the leading retail stores the financial results will indicate as well as involve the community? Thus, the project is surrounded by these values.
Project Objectives
· Improve lives of ten low-income communities in the first year by increasing volunteerism and donations.
· Expand store size and product selection by 10% within two years
· Open a new store outside the state within five years
· Achieve annual sales of at least five million dollars.
Project Scope
All three of stores of the Retail Store chain will implement store and employee volunteer efforts including a near expiring product donations to 10 low-income communities by January 15, 2018, with full implementation February 1, 2018. All three Retail Store size and product expansion of 10% will be completed by October 2019. November 1, 2019, through November 1, 2022, increased revenues and financial stability will determine the addition of a new location and expansion into an adjacent state.
High-Level Requirements
· Use of current cash flow or financing options in place to use for expansion
Project deliverables
· New policy and procedures on volunteer requirements and activities
· Coordination of donated products with charity services
· Customer research for increase in product selection
· In-house or outsourced store footprint design and space requirements
· Purchasing and installation of new shelving and store furnishings and outfitted with all
new products in place.
· Hiring of temperature / full-time staff for expansion
· Coordination of distribution centers
Milestones
· Identify expiring products for donation on the 30th of every month.
· Coordinate monthly community events to happen the first Saturday of every month.
· Quarterly meetings regarding store expansion plans.
· Approval for store and product expansion October 2018
· Start construction for store expansion January of 2019
· Completion of store and product expansion October 2019
· Start planning process for new store to open January 2021
Technical Requirements
· Store expansion must meet all local building codes
· New Product selections must fall in with current store standards
Project Limits
· The project must meet the three parts plan
· Must be tailored to the retail store mission and vision
· Expansion spending limited to $150,000 per store
· Complete size and expansion phase with all deliverable by October 31, 2019
Project Exclusion
· The project does not include the financial requirement specifications that may be needed while working on it.
