Feedback -Overall, a good effort. I did not address grammatical issues as I will be attaching a Grammarly report. If you have not done so, activate and install Grammarly. You should have received an email a week or two ago with instructions. If not, let me know. You were very close on the APA formatting. One of the better efforts. Work on citing your introductory sentence. A paragraph will always have at least three sentences. The first sentence introduces the topic of that paragraph and is often supported with a citation. The second (or more) sentence explains that topic better and provides more detail. The final sentence summarizes the paragraph and provides for some transition to the next paragraph.

Business Continuity Plan

A bBusiness continuity plan (BCP) is a proactive policy that's that is put in place to avoid and mitigate threats and risks that are associated with the disruption of key activities of an organization. This plan provides details on steps that have tomust be taken before, during, and after an event has taken occured to maintain the financial viability of the organization. In cases when an event takes place the plan has to ensure that it takes the shortest time possible to ensure that the normal operations of the organization are resumed. Therefore, the BCP plan is a vital part of any organization that seeks to ensure that it does not waste time in cases an event takes place (Sahebjamnia, Torabi & Mansouri, 2015). Comment by Alan Dennis:

A business continuity plan is vital for the running of the organization because of the various roles that it plays in case an event takes place. For instance, the main objective of the business continuity plan is to identify a critical operation within an organization and most probable threats that can take place, and then provide a plan to maintain or restore when already attacked the critical operations of the organization during a crisis. This is made effective by having an emergency communication plan to some of the key people during times of a crisis (Tracey et al. 2017). Therefore, as a result of these plans put in place the resumption of key departments within an organization is done swiftly without huge effects being felt. Comment by Alan Dennis: Citation

Successful running of an organization requires that one understands the needs of the customers regardless of the condition of the operation. Cases of disasters and natural calamities should not be used as an excuse for anyone not to operate and meet the goals of the customers in the market. This is why the business continuity plan comes into play to ensure that the desires of the customers are met regardless of the situation at the organization. The plan maintains key operations despite the economic downturns, natural disasters and bad publicity that the organization faces. Comment by Alan Dennis: Citation – how do you know this?

In this regard, the business continuity plan is made effective by forcing leaders to review their weakness and threats that they face from their organization from a detached perspective. The plan might raise questions on the negative aspects that might the "what if?" to ensure that the answers provided are useful in solving some of the issues that an organization might face during its normal operational activities. Therefore, tight rules put in place ensure that leaders understand the appropriate reactions that have to be initiated during times of crisis to ensure that the organization remains functional despite the situation. Besides that, in case there is an eventual attack then the organization has to take the shortest time possible to resume its normal operation (Annarelli & Nonino, 2016).

Conclusion

In summary, a business continuity plan is a vital tool for most of the organizations. This is because incidences of threats and risks occurring are common cases and one should always be prepared just in case they take place. The threats should not be a major stumbling block for the success of the organization; therefore a business continuity plan provides an effective plan for the management of these issues.
