PART 1: PERSONAL REFLECTION
TOPIC: What is one problem, issue, or need in the world, or in your own community, that you care a lot about?
Racism is one of the biggest issues in the world, and a lot of countries are suffering from it. The issue is not new, and we can see the old history even back in the 13th century. The classification on the basis of racism is always offending. The people are made by the same Lord, they have the same organs even their color and creed are not responsible for the abilities and talents they have, but still, the world has observed a lot of differentiation among the people. The problem is prominent in the United States of America, where more than half of the population nearly 54% say that race relations have made things worse. The differentiation between white and black have led the communities to be made, and it creates an atmosphere of hate among the people. Back in the 13th century, an amendment was made in the constitution, and it stated that there will be no slavery from onwards. There were a lot of mixed reviews on the amendment because it was terrible for some communities to accept that black people will now be equal to them. If we see the circumstances in the world, we will come to know that there is an extreme need to eradicate the concept of racism from the world. Black people should be accepted and should be given their rights. There are a lot of heroes who have laid down their lives in the struggle to see equality in different races. The differentiation is not only made by the Americans, but it has been seen in many other countries where the poor and lower casts are looked upon by others. The world needs to understand that everyone is important, everyone is equal, and all of us got equal chances to make the progress and to move ahead in life. This issue is important to me because being the student and being the responsible citizen, it is my part of my duty that I must remind the people that every one of you is important, and the concept of racism has got no value now. There is a lot of struggle needed to make it understand and to make it realize to everyone that racism should be ended. It is destroying beautiful relationships and friendships. The world is a place of peace, and it should be made peaceful for everyone instead of promoting racism.

PERSONAL CONNECTION: Why is this particular issue important to you? Is there something in your life experience or academic studies that relates? This issue is important to me because being the student and being the responsible citizen, it is my part of my duty that I must remind the people that every one of you is important, and the concept of racism has got no value now. There is a lot of struggle needed to make it understand and to make it realize to everyone that racism should be ended. It is destroying beautiful relationships and friendships. The world is a place of peace, and it should be made peaceful for everyone instead of promoting racism. It has been observed that the people from the lower casts and low creeds and even the black people made a lot of contributions in the world. They are not less than anyone. They are capable of leading the world, and Mr. Obama has wonderfully proved that there is nothing to do with the cast, creed, and color, but the capabilities and talents do matter. A person should be responsible enough and mature enough to make the world realize that he can do anything to achieve his goals. That’s why the issue is important to me, and it is not only me, but a lot of people want this concept to be ended. Moving on, as far as my personal experience is concerned, the circumstances have become far better in this century, and both the white and black people are treated almost equally. The concept has not ended yet, but there is a lot of attempts to be made to eradicate the roots of this issue. I have seen many black girls and boys in the college being embarrassed and being in inferiority complex due to their color. So, it is our responsibility to end this concept and to give the deserved respect and importance.

ROOT CAUSE HYPOTHESIS: What do you think are some of the root causes of this issue? Explain. 1. The difference in the color of skin as white people looked upon the black people 2. Ethnic groups are differentiated on the basis of creed and causes inferior complex in the lower creeds. 3. The differentiation on the basis of wealth and money as the rich people do not like to talk to poor people 4. The teachings of parents towards children on the topic of racism plays an important role.
AUDIENCE HYPOTHESIS: Based on the causes you have identified, who would be a good audience for you to try to make a change on this issue? Why?”
The audience for the issue are government authorities, ethnic and religious groups, the school teachers, the law-making bodies, and all the citizens.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS: The next step is research. What are the three questions related to your issue that you want to answer during your research? Think of information that might help you better understand the issue in order to address or solve it.

1. More than 4 out of 10 people say that the racial discrimination has not made progress. 2. More than half of the population is of the view that racism has made the relations worse.
In this column, explain in your own words why the facts you included to the left are important:
It means that efforts are not being fruitful till now, and there is a dire need to improve the situation and to make the people realize that these things do not matter.
It means that racism also affect on the relationships, so this concept has to be eliminated out of the minds of people. |
What was the most important thing you learned from this source? Why?
The most important thing that I have learned is the concern of people towards the class and racism while being in relationships. It is quite painful because relations are not to be judged by color but the emotions and feelings.

How can you tell that this is a reliable source? The source is reliable because it has discussed the root causes and different facts that how the schools play their role in eliminating or promoting the racism in children.
In this column, make a list of the most important facts or statistics you learned from this source:
1. School funding basically comes from well known and rich families that promote racism 2. Negative image between black and white is promoted by the media and affect the minds of children
In this column, explain in your own words why the facts you included to the left are important:
The poor families are unable to provide funds and endowment to schools due to which their children are looked upon by others.
The media should play a sensible role because the negative image presented by media has a strong impact on the minds of children, and its effects are terrible. |
What was the most important thing you learned from this source? Why?
I have learned that children are like the seeds, and they get adjusted as their teachers and parents say or instruct. So, it is the responsibility of teachers and parents to change the concept of racism from the lies of children. It is because children have to lead, and there are the flag bearers, so they should be helping towards the lower creeds. They need to understand that all of us are equal. There is no concept of superiority and inferiority. This concept in the schools can be very helpful and can change the minds of students. They will be more responsible and will implement such guidelines in their personal life as well.

2. Support such groups socially, morally, and financially.
In this column, explain in your own words why the facts you included to the left are important:
The victims are present in the whole world, and different communities are affected on a worse note. So, it was recommended that the things can be made better if the rights of people affecting from racism are preserved. The people need to understand that they have rights and they should be given. Such communities are not given financial support and social support, as well. They are looked at as filthy creation. |
What was the most important thing you learned from this source? Why?
It is an important role of us to provide with the rights, to do something financially for them, and the most important thing is to change their inferiority complex. They must be made realized that they are important and they will be important for the whole world.

PART 3: PROJECT PLANNING OUTLINE
CREATE YOUR OWN TEXT-BASED CAMPAIGN!
Start outlining the components of your final project here. You will explain each choice in greater detail and polished prose for your final project.
Headline: What is the “headline” of your campaign? What phrase or hashtag will you use? Why those words? “Stop Racism”
Message: What is the subtext of the campaign? In other words, what messages are you communicating by the headline?
“Everyone is equal, and everyone should be given his rights.”
Audience: With whom is your campaign designed to communicate? Why?
The audience for the issue are government authorities, ethnic and religious groups, the school teachers, the law-making bodies, and all the citizens.
Approach: What exactly will you do in this campaign? Will you focus on social media or public space? Will you use videos, photos, music, or other media? Will you use Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube? Maybe you want to go out into the world and plan a concrete physical campaign similar to “You Are Beautiful” or “Before I Die.” If you would be implementing your campaign in public space, describe where you would situate it, and why.
I will focus on social media, including all the above-mentioned forums, and will raise the voice for victims of racism.
The theme of Civic Engagement: In which area of civic engagement does this campaign best fit: Associating, Serving, Giving, or Leading? Why? It will be associating and serving because the association is needed for the joint collaboration of different communities in the world. |
Materials and Cost: The grant is for $1000. How would you use that? What materials and resources will you need for your campaign? This may include physical materials and/or costs of labor. Use the internet to identify sources for your materials and supplies, and to approximate costs. Include citations for any informational resources you use.
The materials and resources are not predefined. It will depend on the campaign is going. The grant will be used after setting up the budget. Of course, it is needed on social media to publish articles, to look for, and to buy different literature. The budget will be used to help the poor communities and to give funding to different institutes.
