In this article, the author explain how a very impressive machine on hand: Watson, the powerful Jeopardy-playing computer built by IBM, beat the all-time human Jeopardy game show champion, by winning a game against two teams from MIT and Harvard. Although Harvard managed to do well, its team was no match for the powerful computer. I will use this article to demonstrate how human continue to be replaced by computer and machines. “There's been a long-running debate about does technology eliminate jobs," says David Autor, an MIT economist. Back at the turn of the 20th century, about 38 percent of all American workers were working on farms. At present, it's 2 percent. Machines took over a lot of farm work, but new industries and new jobs were created. Overall, technology improved people's quality of life, including advantages like better health care and rising incomes over the past 100 years .

An international team of researchers from Western Sydney University, Harvard University, Kings College, Oxford University and University of Manchester have found the Internet can produce both acute and sustained alterations in specific areas of cognition, which may reflect changes in the brain, affecting our intentional capacities, memory processes, and social interactions. I will use this article to show how the Internet has a negative impact in today society and what benefits we gain from it, and also the overall negative impact it has on society. I will also extend my paper by talking about how we as a society can mitigate to the risk of the Internet. One of the quote that I will use is the one from Professor Sarris when he says : "To minimize the potential adverse effects of high-intensity multi-tasking Internet usage, I would suggest mindfulness and focus practice, along with use of 'Internet hygiene' techniques (e.g. reducing online multitasking, and evening online activity, while engaging in more in-person interactions),"

Cavalier, Robert. The Impact of the Internet on our Moral Lives. New York: State University of New York Press, 2005.

This book explores issues the Internet poses for our sense of privacy, sensitivity to wrongdoing, and our cultural and personal identity. The electronic culture that influences almost every aspect of our daily lives offers new ethical challenges and creates new areas for philosophical reflection on these challenges. It explores topics such as copyright and intellectual property, trust, student cheating, pornography, and human agency, and the positive and negative impact that the Internet has on our ability to flourish as human beings. It also prompts the reader to ask questions not about the object itself (the Internet) but about how we conduct analyses of potentially new objects and actions. This book will be used in addition with the article Carr Nicholas support my research and go deep on the subject.

C. Reflection Questions

1. Accurately recording bibliographic information is essential and saves you time, as you can transfer this information to the References page of your drafted essay. Each source entry should include a brief summary of the source as well as 3-4 sentences describing how you intend to use that source to build or support your argument. Discuss how your annotated bibliography meets these criteria. (2-3 sentences)

My annotated bibliography meets all these requirements because I have summarized the source and explained how and where in my paper I am going to use it. This will help me not to get lost on my paper and will keep me focus on the subject. All the information gathered will be useful during the writing process.

2. Which strategies were most helpful for you when searching for credible sources? (2-3 sentences)

I mostly used the publication date; looking at the publication date and find out if the source will be helpful to support my opinion on the subject. I also did research on the author. Cross-checking the information found to ensure its validity was also a strategy that I used.

3. What difficulties did you face while searching for credible sources? How did you overcome these difficulties? (2-3 sentences)

I found a lot of sources during my research process that didn’t provide detailed information that I needed. It was very difficult for me to overcome this. I then tried to extend my search with current events, different areas of concern, and I was able to find useful and credible sources.

Thanks for your submission. You did a good job completing this Annotated Bibliography. The purpose of an annotated bibliography is to identify a relevant source, summarize the article and state why it is relevant to your research. You competently chose academically appropriate research sources and followed conventions for standard writing and formatting to present most of your sources. You further provided sufficient summaries for most of the sources with just enough information to support the decision to use those sources. However, you did not state the credibility status of any of the sources. That is a major omission.

Generally, this is a good effort.
