My name is Maria Ramirez; I am an attorney from Venezuela. My passion has always been in law and justice since I was an adolescent. The main reason why I became a lawyer was because law is a form to protect and defend the rights of people in the world. Additionally, I saw nothing else while growing up; all the women in my family have been lawyers. I believe that was my inspiration, seeing them do their job with such passion and drive pushed me to being the best at what I did and completely fall in love with my field of study. Another factor that inferred me in the decision to become a lawyer was, my time in high school. I was always the voice of my class; I was the one that would defend all my classmates for injustices. This humanitarian act did not end in high school, for I continued to defend my colleges and even offer free legal advice while I was in college and afterwards. My goal has always been to help people to understand and respect the law by making them aware of them and helping them know what’s in their best interest.

My experience I have had during my career has given me an extraordinary ability to resolves problems in my community with the practicing of law. Additionally, I had the opportunity of working in the National Integrated Service of Customs and Tax Administration (SENIAT) in Maracaibo, Venezuela. There I was in charge of helped a lot of persons with my accurate knowledge of tax and customs law because I was a prosecutor, designated to teach the community how to pay taxes. This job was the best experience that I have had because my community understands the importance to act under the law. Besides, SENIAT gave me the opportunity to complete a Master Degree in Tax and Customs Law. Moreover, four years ago I decided to move to the United States of America. Ever since I move to the U.S., I have been working on my English for it is my second language. Florida International University gave me the opportunity to complete a paralegal certificated program in 2017-2018, which truly helped me to stop being afraid of talking and just let my experience in the subject matter be shown.

In the present time, I would like to be part of the law school at the University of Miami because I am willing to go back to school and complete the graduated program. If given the opportunity to enter this prestigious university, I will have the opportunity to grow professionally and being a better house head. I can offer my two children a better quality of life. Also, I understand the level of effort and work that I needed to obtain an LLM, but I'm sure of my ability to pass all new challenge places on me, for I want this for personal growth.          Finally, one of the reasons that I am applying to the LLM graduate program in the University of Miami consists in my interest to learn and improve my knowledge about the legal system in the United States of America. Additionally, I believe that studying an LLM program would help me in developing myself as a professional legal advisor. This program will give me the opportunity to help people to understand the importance to follow the rules and regulations. I feel that I will comprehend and easily fit into this course because I have the skills and profile to fight for what I truly want and this would be a dream come true. I wish that you will find me the right candidate and give me this excellent and gratifying opportunity to become a professional in the USA.
