Assignment Instructions:
Step 1: Identify three (3) Knowledge, Awareness, and Skills you would need in order to work with Ben.
Step 2: Ideally, when it comes to goal setting, we want to work collaboratively with the client in identifying and prioritizing needs. Use your professional judgement and information from the reading to respond to the following:
2a) After reading over the case study, identify three (3) problems/issues that need to be addressed.
2b) What might be the goal of your work on each of the three identified problems/issues?
2c) What elements would need to be contained in a safety plan/safe self plan?
Step 3: Identify two (2) ways you would incorporate the power and control wheel into your work with Ben. Please include specifics from this tool in your response.
Step 4: Complete the following prompts:
4a) Compare the definition of intimate partner violence you have read during this module with any definition and/or policy associated with IPV in your city and/or state.
4b) Identify the rate of IPV (intimate partner violence) within the LGBTQ+ community in YOUR city and/or state. Indicate how easy/difficult it was to locate this information.
4c) Locate and include in your response intimate partner violence services within your own local community that would be appropriate for Ben. Please share with the class whether these services are readily available and easy to locate in your area or if you experienced challenges finding services that would meet the needs of this client.
