Shopify Seller badge This badge enables students to experience making online sales without financial risk. They configure all necessary settings, and create discounts
as customer incentives. They then place their payment gateway in test mode, and make artificial sales to peers, using the guidance and test
credit cards numbers provided in the Shopify Help Center. Teachers can evaluate how students handle orders, and can also generate customer
relationship issues such as post-sale changes to orders, or customer complaints. No money changes hands, and the store is not launched to the
public.
Students may work towards this badge individually or on a group store.
In consultation with Shopify, this rubric was originally developed by Pam Bovey Armstrong & Polina Buchan from St. Lawrence College, Kingston,
ON.
