Purpose:

Before you can start to build your e-commerce site, you need to come up with an idea for an

ecommerce business. Using concepts and theories learned in Week 1 Discussion post on Value

Proposition Canvas (VPC) and Business Model Canvas (BMC), this paper will demonstrate the use of

these model to create a comprehensive idea which can be created with Shopify. Please review the

requirements of Shopify to see if your idea will fit into the requirements of Shopify portion of this

assignment.

Requirements:

• This is an individual assignment.

• Using the VPC and BMC, determine a plausible e-commerce business.

• Provide a brief explanation of the VPC model – what it is, how it is used, and what are the

benefits and drawbacks.

• Provide a brief explanation of the BMC model – what it is, how it is used and what are the

benefits and drawbacks.

• Provide a brief explanation of how the VPC and BMC work together.

• Apply the concepts of VPC and BMC and determine a plausible e-commerce business. Justify

your business idea using the VPC and BMC.

• For each section in the VPC and BMC, provide a short explanation of how the contents in each

section support the overall business idea.

• Include a diagram of the VPC and BMC showing the key elements for each section for each

model.

• APA 7th edition formatting for the paper is required. Title page, Table of contents, reference

page, and in-text citation where appropriate. Abstract not required.

• The paper has no minimum or maximum length. Ensure each point above has been thoroughly

answered. Ensure the correct terminology is applied where appropriate.

• A well written paper is one that teaches the reader. Marks can only be given for what is written

and not what the writer meant to write. Do not assume the reader will fill in the gaps of

information.

• The paper will be marked using the attached rubrics on page 2.
