A genogram is a visual family mapping tool. It gives the clinician an inside knowledge of

the family history through generations. It is a vital tool used by Mental Health Providers.

(Wheeler, 2014). It provides a pathway for complete understanding of the graphical picture of

relationships, family, or life events that may have contributed to the current issues circumstance.

(Wheeler, 2014).

A genogram can serve as an empowering resource for the patient as he/she is able to

recount the medical and biological achievement of generations living or dead (Browning & Hull,

2018).
