Collaboration and Teamwork: Patient Education Committee
Patient Education Committee is a group that was formed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) to promote the quality of patient care (Patient Education Committee, 2021). Role of Nursing Leadership Promoting Effective Communication
Nursing leadership is essential in the Patient Education Committee as it offers a constructive climate where members feel supported (Northouse, 2014). Through Patient Education resources, the surgical team it easy to perform surgery on the patients. Diversity and inclusion is another critical area that serves to promote the success of Patient Education Committee. By bringing together people from different traditional backgrounds with other approaches, the group will have diverse approaches. Besides, communication is an integral part of solving disputes in organizations and groups. The team leader of the Patient Education Committee applies effective communication to solve the conflicts within the group (Cope & Murray, 2017). Similarly, good leaders tend to listen to all members of the group. In the event leader fails to listen to some group members, they feel unwanted and may underperform.
