Due Hard Copy in Section on Feb 12 (week 6)

From the Syllabus:

The section paper will be a one page, double-spaced response to one of the required readings listed below. It will ask you to summarize the author’s key ideas and some kind of personal response to those key ideas. The paper must do two things:

1) What is the argument of this article? Here, you must answer the question “what is the author’s thesis?” Demonstrate that you have read the article closely.

2) What is your reaction to this thesis? Is it founded, unfounded, offensive, inaccurate? Offer some kind of personal response.

Length: 500-700 words

For this paper, you pick one of the following readings:
