In selecting the site which is closest to the suburban part of the city, I was guided by the author of this article. The National Capital Planning Commission takes particular steps in choosing the perfect location for a museum. They start by identifying and mapping a few criteria for a new site. They then proceed by developing evaluation criteria that is site specific. They then continue by applying this analysis methodology and weigh the potentiality of the various places. They finalize by identifying candidate locations and obtaining consensus.

By the author's suggestions, a site evaluation criterion involves three things. They include the factors that are to be considered in the evaluation of each candidate site followed by specific questions for each element. Finally, values are assigned to the responses which are given to each criterion. The author identifies the requirements as being the economic criteria, the transportation criteria and the environmental criteria which I also used in selecting my site.

The author of this article focuses on the planning aspect of site selection. The author indicates that for such a choice to be commensurate with the purpose of the museum, then one should consider several things. By this, the author asks the question of what purpose such a museum has, an example being oral records or archives which will profoundly influence its location. Also, goal means either a digital collection, a preservation museum or a collection to give a home. Also, one should consider the impact that the group will have on the people. It is of great importance to identify the target audience before setting up the museum.

Some other factors that one needs to consider according to the author include the visitor numbers. One needs to select a location that will make business sense regarding larger customer numbers. It is of great importance to identify the community need according to the author. In the selection process, the community in which you will set up the museum needs to be appreciative of your collection. They need to own your project.
