Philosophy

The class was not a discussion like the last one. I was surprised when I saw most of the students were on their phone during class and most looked exhausted for some reason. There was not any deep conversation like the discussion, it was more listening. However, I believe we learned about a man that made an impact in his community.

A philosopher named Immanuel Kant was born in German and became famous because of some things he said. Kant said something about how people should be equal and gave it a term, which is Kantian Deontology. This theory goes toward the acts on people, regardless of their interests or desire. He stated that “End humans are required never to treat others merely as a means to an end, but always, additionally, as ends in themselves”. In another word, he meant that when a person sees someone do something not nice how would I approach him to stop in a way that if I was in his shoes then I will do the same thing I do to myself. He made the community closer as they all work together and being equal.

Deontology was a very hard word to say and looks very hard, but it was a new word I learned which means a way of teaching. Another word I learned was ethics which means the moral principle that conduct a person or a group of individuals actions in the society. The class was hard to keep up with because there was a lot of big words, but it was fine because I learned something new.
