Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate and integrate the various theoretical frameworks for understanding trauma we covered in Modules 2 through 4. Specifically, compare and contrast Cognitive-Behavioral Theory, Psychoanalytic Theory, and Attachment Theory (including supporting infant and neurobiological research) and the application of these perspectives to treating trauma.
A comprehensive understanding of different theoretical approaches is necessary in clinical practice to ensure the appropriate application is utilized to maximize progress in treating traumatic stress in diverse patients with varying situations and needs.
Course Objectives
· CO 3: Familiarize with the applications of techniques for assessment and intervention in clinical issues related to traumatic stress.
Requirements
1. The Guided Essay 2 assignment is worth 200 points and will be graded on use of citations, use of Standard English grammar, sentence structure, and overall organization based on the required components as summarized in the directions and grading criteria/rubric.
2. Create your exercise using Microsoft Word (a part of Microsoft Office), which is the required format for all Chamberlain College documents. You can tell that the document is saved as a MS Word document because it will end in ".docx"

4. The length of the exercise is to be no less than 3 pages and no greater than 5 pages excluding title page and reference pages.
5. APA format is required with both a title page and reference page. · Chapter 2: Cognitive-Behavioral Theory
· Chapter 3: Psychoanalytic Theory (Part I)
· Chapter 4: Psychoanalytic Theory (Part II)
· Chapter 5: Attachment Theory, Infant Research, and Neurobiology
Write a 3–5-page essay addressing the following components (use level 1 headings to organize your essay):
1. Discuss and compare the strengths or benefits of each of the theoretical perspectives we have covered.
2. Discuss and compare the weakness or limitations of each of the theoretical perspectives we have covered.
3. Include specific examples from published research studies to support your discussion and evaluation of the a fore mentioned theoretical frameworks, citing from at least three additional sources for completeness.
