MSTM 703- Statistics and Probability in Tech Management

Project: Due April 30th by 11:59 PM

For this assignment, you will be taking the role of an external evaluator for a manufacturing firm. As part of the firm’s development plan, they are looking into expanding their machining division and purchasing extra equipment, specifically looking into a computer numerically controlled (CNC) milling machines. After some discussion with various suppliers of these machines, the firm has narrowed down their choices to one of four machines: the HAAS VF-1 or VF-2, the Okuma Genos M460, and the Mazak VC-500A.

In order to choose between the machines, the firm has been allowed to try out each machine for weeklong period, using their different operators. During each test of the machine, the operator and the part manufactured was randomly assigned. For each run, the data was logged on the part, the ideal specifications for each part, the actual (measured) specifications, and the allowed tolerances.

The company approached you to complete the analysis of each machine and look into the results for each machine, looking into the details and provide an analysis of the data and provide a report of the results of the analysis.

For the report

The report should be at least 4 pages long, written in third person. Use 11 Point, Times New Roman font, and it should be double spaces. All figures and tables should have descriptive captions, where the figure captions should be below the figure, but table captions should be above. The report should include three sections, background information, data and analysis, and recommendations. If there are any references, please use an official style of referencing (APA, MLA, IEEE, etc.) and be consistent
