More grading pointers and guidelines for REA project:

Students will start with the REA model in Ch 8 of the text.  They add to this model using the team's creativity to sell the product they choose.

When grading the projects I look at the reports (the quality, creativity, and level of difficulty), which lets me know your level of motivation and how far into the project the team progressed--to what level is the project completed.

Students seem to have trouble presenting their work to the reviewer--me.  All work should be documented in the narrative--and that documentation should match the actual project in Access.

To organize queries:

Number each query--so I can easily see the query design in the narrative and Access.

Group queries into categories, ie.

Basic

Advanced

Ratios

Search

Profitability

Auditor

Manager

Financial Statement(s)

Queries should concern accounting calculations--such as ending inventory, ending cash, ratio analysis, income statement, gross profit, lost gross profit, returns percentage and analysis, analysis of customer buying behavior, analysis of sales behavior, accounts receivable or credit card analysis (or both).

Reports should include an income statement, and ratio analysis.

Enhancements for the projects bring your team into the higher scores--over 100 up to 110 points.  Adding controls such as passwords, ACM, and validation rules/edit checks would be examples of such enhancements.
