Analyzing the Infrastructures and what Effect they can have on the Supply Chain and Transportation

Abstract

The supply chain infrastructure is critical to ensure that the businesses that a company undertake in line with the supply chain and transportation are effective and meet the need of the consumers who have contracted the firm to have their services rendered to them. Hence, the necessary infrastructure in the supply chain and transport industry are the buildings, equipment used to facilitate the processes of logistics and information technology. Thereby, these infrastructures are intended to solve the problems associated with the processes, activities and movement of products from suppliers to the customers. Hence, the effects of infrastructure on the supply chain and transportation are to improve and increase the transportation systems' capacity and eliminate the congestions that may be experienced when the products that have been offered by the consumers are on transit. The infrastructures are to solve the problem of systems reliability and reduce variabilities that may be experienced while products are on transit which offers the possibility to predict on-time operations and performance with accuracy. The research will rely on the data from the online retail companies that use the supply chain and transport services to be able to disseminate their products and services to their customers to establish the impact that infrastructures have in the sector. Also, the research will use the data from the industry to establish its growth and its effects on infrastructure. The solutions to the problem of lack of infrastructure will be solved through public-private collaborations to solve the deficit experienced and boost the capacity in which the supply chain and transport operate to meet the consumers' needs.
