Quality Assurance
It is using concepts of Total Quality Management (TQM) in which it Identifies, analyzes and addresses problems at work. It focuses on quality progresses, feedback approaches, surveys and self-evaluations of quality programs.
Quality Training
Providing well supervised internal and external quality training programs. Also, available scholarship and policies to guide training programs.
Quality Policies
Providing policies of healthcare quality, strategic planning, change management, performance evaluations and hospital accreditations.
Studies and researches
Conducting scientific researches in coordination with related authorities. Also, providing opportunities to present scientific papers in local and international conferences (MOH, 2014).

Minister of Health is Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah
His accountabilities are as follows:
Responding to public concerns.
Communicating to concerned authorities.
Participating in conferences and formal events.
Supervising the units of MOH and other entities.
Communicating resolutions to the MOH’s agencies and authorities.

Assessment of New Initiatives
National Safety Enhancement Program
It will improve the levels of safety in Saudi health facilities including public and private health facilities (MOH, 2016).
It will maintain patent safety, facility safety and decrease medical errors (Almoajel , 2017).
Saudi Center for Patient Safety
It will improve healthcare and implementation of development processes (MOH, 2017b).
It will enhance medical practices, patient safety and decrease medical errors (MOH, 2017b; Aljadhey et al., 2013).
National Safety Enhancement Program
It is a comprehensive safety program that aims to maintain patient safety and decrease medical errors (MOH, 2016). The main objectives of this program include the following:
Improving the levels of safety in Saudi health facilities including public and private health facilities (MOH, 2016).
Ensuring all safety requirements, specifications and established procedures are met (MOH, 2016).
Maintaining patent safety, facility safety and decrease medical errors (Almoajel , 2017).
Providing local system for reporting medical errors (MOH, 2016).
Promoting patient safety culture (MOH, 2016).
Saudi Center for Patient Safety
It is MOH’s initiative to improve healthcare in Saudi Arabia (MOH, 2017). It focuses on the following objectives:
Improving healthcare and implementation of the development process (MOH, 2017b).
Improving the National Transformation Program (NTP) implementation (MOH, 2017b).
Providing national reference for all matters related to patient safety (MOH, 2017b).
Preventing medical errors and developing the national strategy for patient safety (MOH, 2017b).
Supporting health processes in Saudi Arabia (MOH, 2017b).
Improving performance efficiency in the health facilities (MOH, 2017b).
Improving patients’ satisfaction of the health services (MOH, 2017b).
Enhancing medical practices (MOH, 2017; Aljadhey et al., 2013).
Monitoring, following up, studying and analyzing medical errors ((MOH, 2017; Aljadhey et al., 2013).
Encouraging researchers to conduct researches on patient safety (MOH, 2017; Aljadhey et al., 2013).
Encouraging national programs and initiatives for improving patient safety (MOH, 2017).

MOH Data Department
Data provided in MOH data department is used to measure quality and shape future practice through:
Collecting different data.
Setting a work mechanism for data collection.
Providing collected data to related departments.
Analyzing data for report purposes.
Creating opportunities of scientific researches.
Developing department employees, activities and regional directorates.

It is the main source of healthcare data and health statistics that can be used for different purposes (MOH, 2017c). Information provided in MOH data department is used to measure quality and shape future practice through:
Collecting different data such as health status, resources, services and pilgrims’ health data.
Setting a current work mechanism for data collection from different systems and sources.
Providing collected data to media, researchers and related departments through reports and statistical books.
Analyzing birth and mortality data as required for report and research purposes.
Monitoring data transformation from regional directories.
Developing department employees, related regional directorates and departmental activities.
Sending and receiving annual and review reports (MOH, 2017c).

Complaint Inquiry E-service
The Complaint Inquiry E-service allows the following:
Logging in without name or password.
Using the Voice Citizen Service.
Responding in three working days time.
Escalating delayed responses automatically.
Sending an email and a text message to the users.
Closing the message when it is answered.

It is an e-service that allows to inquire about the submitted complaint status and display it to MOH Portal's visitors (MOH, 2013). The e-service allows the following:
Logging in without name or password.
Using the Voice Citizen Service.
Connecting the complaints, queries, suggestions and appreciations of citizens and residents directly to MOH portal by Voice Citizen Service .
Responding in three working days time of message or complaint.
Escalating delayed responses automatically.
Sending text messages to the users.
Viewing the response of the message or complaint easily in the system.
Sending an email and a text message with the message or complaint’s latest status to the users.
Closing the message when it is answered (MOH, 2013).

Conclusion
MOH is the leading force of healthcare quality in Saudi Arabia. It works in accordance to Saudi vision 2030 in which it provides healthcare resources and policies. Also, it improves healthcare services and improves patients’ satisfaction by receiving and responding to their inquiries. Most importantly, it enhances national, patient and facility safety through its new initiatives.
