Overview

Now that you have explored the elements and principles of design and their applications, you will have the opportunity to apply them to your own creations. As you work on this activity, remember to focus on showing that you understand and are able to apply the elements and principles of design. You will use Adobe Illustrator to help yourself become familiar with the tool, which you will use more in future modules and in your course project.

Prompt

Create six basic illustrations that represent three elements of design and three principles of design. Use the basic functions and tools in Adobe Illustrator to apply your understanding of the elements and principles of design to your illustrations. Make sure to label each illustration with the element or principle it represents. Remember, the focus is on demonstrating that you understand and are able to apply the elements and principles of design, so get creative!

In addition to your illustrations, provide an explanation of the elements or principles of design that you used to create each of the required illustrations. Make sure to cite any supporting evidence.

What to Submit

To complete this project, you must submit the following:

Illustrations Submit your illustrations as both a PDF and an AI file so that your instructor can view and grade them. Make sure to clearly include your name on your submission.
