Module Five

Learning Objectives By the end of this module, you will meet these learning objectives:

Module Overview Now that you have mapped out your business model in a business model canvas (BMC) chart, it is time to

start delving into the details of your plan. Each element of your model should be supported by facts and

gures to show how you plan to execute your business plan and achieve the desired results.

Apart from being protable or creating new customer segments for your company, your new

product/service should also t in with the larger company culture. This includes aligning it with the

company’s position on corporate social responsibility (CSR). Studies have proven that having robust CSR

programs benets not just the community and a company’s image, but also the company’s bottom line. So,

you should be able to articulate how your product or service will help the company fulll its CSR

responsibilities.

Another key element of your project is resources. When planning to staff or recruit your project team

members, keep your company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policy or initiatives in mind. The benets

of having a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment are well documented. It helps bring new

perspectives, increases employee engagement and creativity, and helps increase the company’s shareholder

value and revenue. So, ensuring your new project aligns with the company’s DEI and CSR initiatives is as

important as ensuring it is protable.

In this module, you will add details to your BMC chart and create a more comprehensive business model. You

will also examine how your business plan will align with the company’s position on CSR and DEI.

Module at a Glance This is the recommended plan for completing the reading assignments and activities within the module.

Discuss how the project is good for corporate social responsibility and diversity, equity, and

inclusion (DEI)

Determine if the company has a corporate culture built around DEI
