ENG 520 Module Eight Journal Guidelines and Rubric

Overview: Journal activities in this course are private between you and the instructor. A course journal is generally made up of many individual assignments. In this journal assignment, you will reflect on your story-writing process and the feedback you have received throughout the course. Your final story plan is due in the next module, so now is an opportune time to regroup and reflect on your story in a holistic way. Prompt: You have looked at structure, plot outline, world-building and setting details, character, and theme, and have received instructor and peer feedback on these elements. Before completing this journal, collect a list of all of your feedback—good and bad—for your own personal reference. In your journal assignment, you will revisit this feedback. Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

● Explain your plans to incorporate the feedback received. What feedback did you receive that you plan to incorporate in your revision process for this story, and why?

● Defend your decision for not incorporating the feedback. What feedback did you receive that you have evaluated and decided not to implement, and why?

● Explain writing techniques acquired through feedback that will be implemented in future work. What tips or techniques have you learned through peer or instructor feedback that you will implement in your future work?

Lastly, as you plan ahead for revision, you many list any final questions or issues that have come up as a result of your instructor or peer feedback.

Guidelines for Submission: Submit assignment as a Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. Your journal assignment must be no more than 500 words and any sources should be cited in MLA format.
