Module 5: Overview, Readings, and Tasks

There is a strong contemporary interest in the concept of place and it is notable how this interest crosses boundaries of disciplinary study—anthropology, psychology, geography, philosophy, cultural studies, and art are just a few of the areas in which interest in the significance of place has emerged. For many researchers, the contemplation of “place” is also intertwined with the construction of knowledge and self- understanding.
