What are three recruitment strategies, supported in the literature, that would be effective for rural healthcare professionals? What are three retention strategies, supported in the literature, that would be effective for rural healthcare professionals? In your opinion, what do you believe would be the most effective recruitment or retention strategy and why? Please list the resources used to identify the strategies you have listed. Then describe how the strength and relevance of these resources influence your choice of strategies? This is so important to consider as the end result not only impacts recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals but additionally the provision healthcare down to the level of quality person-centered care.

Question 2 (Label initial discussion posting as Question 2): Recruitment and retention strategies need to be created uniquely to meet rural healthcare professionals’ needs. If you could create an incentive policy on your dream list to help recruit and retain nurses in rural healthcare settings– what would it be and why? Please list the resources used to identify the policy incentives you have listed. Then describe how the strength and relevance of these resources influence your choice of an incentive you would create?
