ITGS 400 Explorations in Leadership

Required Texts:

Mandela, Nelson. (1995) Long Walk to Freedom. New York: Little Brown and Company Paperback. ISBN: 0-31654818-9. (Make sure that you have the full version, not an abridged version, otherwise you’ll not be able to complete assignments).

Module 4

M4 Draft PPT Slides

Conduct independent research.

1. Post a revision of your title slide, the five introductory slides, and your reference slides, based on feedback.

2. Add at least one sub-section of your content slides. The heading (for the first slide in each section) is: one of the main points you listed in your last sentence of your introductory slides.

Formatting for sub-sections: Bulleted full sentences may be used but NO paragraphs. Short, bulleted phrases are most appropriate for slides but should be long enough for the reader to understand as you'll not be presenting these orally.

Style: As a formal assignment aimed at the level of presentation at a professional conference, formal writing style and correct English grammar/spelling/punctuation/expression must be used, even for phrases.

Content for sub-sections: The content will be a report of what your chosen articles in your reference list state about the topics. It is NOT a general paper with your views on the topic.

Apart from when you introduce a piece of literature, or comment on it, or compare it with another, EVERY sentence in each of the subsections MUST be cited. EVERY SOURCE ON YOUR REFERENCE LIST MUST BE CITED SOMEWHERE IN YOUR PAPER.

Examples of citations in APA style:

Narrative citation e.g.: Moore and Jacobs (2017) estimate there to be X number of homeless children in the USA (p. 5).

Parenthetical citation example: There are estimated to be X number of homeless children in the USA (Moore & Jacobs, 2017, p. 5).

NOTE: Quotes require the page number, paraphrases do not.

NOTE: If more than one sentence is from the same author make that clear as follows:

Moor and Jacobs (2017) suggested that "children exposed to ....." (p. 5). Their research showed that .....Furthermore, they emphasize that .... . Finally, they conclude that.....

(This way you don't need to cite each sentence, but I know you're still referring to the same authors.)
