CRJU-370-DL Summer I 2019 (lelis)
Your first short paper is based on the video Oceans 11 (George Clooney version; available on Amazon
Prime and other video streaming services for rent). Please summarize the key points of this video,
summarize rational choice theory, and apply it to the behavior of Danny Ocean in the video. In your
discussion, please make sure to explain the theory in depth and then address specifically how it applies
in his case (e.g. is his decision to commit the crime rational? Is there evidence he weighed the costs and
benefits of the crime? Please be specific about that process). This short paper must be three-pages,
double spaced. This summary is due on Friday, May 24th by 6 pm. Please upload your short paper to
the dropbox.
The paper submission process is structured so that it will automatically run your papers through
TurnItIn. You don't have to do anything, other than upload your paper to the dropbox. This program
allowed for any submissions to be checked for potential plagiarism. You can find more information
about how to check your paper for similarities and potential plagiarism, as well as how to interpret the
similarity receipt here: https://help.turnitin.com/feedback-studio/d2l/student/student-category.htm
