However, information management is exposed to many challenges. Mcbride pointed out that the emerging technology such as big data and AI was developing so fast and changing the way of social interaction so profoundly that it may result in ethical issues (Mcbride, 2014). One of the ethical issues is the inaccuracy of information. The complexity of the information system may exceed the cognition of the operator, which greatly increases the possibility of such a risk.
France determined in his article that great concerns had been raised about information privacy and its impacts.Researchers are working hard on exploring these issues and finding both technical and foundational solutions. He also addressed that illustrating information privacy with a multilevel framework and using wider diversity of sampling populations could be key factors in the research (France Bélanger and Robert E. Crossler, 2011).
Debi found in his article that one of the ethical issues about information management is security. From an organizational aspect, information security is always neglected and the efforts on building information security management is heavily underestimated. One of his suggestions is to change organizational culture and enhance communication between end users and managers (Debi Ashenden, 2008).
In our organization, inaccurate, incomplete or biased data will never be used to prevent artificial intelligence from biasing and discriminating against specific groups of people. Besides customers’ information are encrypted and stored safely and never be provided to a third party without the user’s permission.
