ERP stands for enterprise resource planning, is software that integrates several software applications to perform or streamline most of the business operations across various departments. The data used by the ERP systems to make decisions and suggestions are from common shared data, the same data is being used by all the integrated software applications and frameworks (Ociepa-Kubicka, 2017). At present, I have been working as a software developer for a reputed company, and we are not been using any sort of ERP at our organization. There are several reasons why our organization must use ERP, the first reason to save money, our the organization has several departments and systems and it is becoming hard for the workforce to keep track of all the activities and tasks individually. By using an ERP, the organization can unify all the departments and systems into one fragmented system, with the help of such unified systems staff members can be able to access all sorts of necessary information and tools for completing their job under on centralized system.

Another reason to use the ERP at our organization is to get better analytics since there are a lot of systems analyzing all the information separately might not provide good results. Implementing an ERP system will record and store all sorts of customer data and business inputs, and this makes it easy for the staff and team members to generate reports from the ERP software. There are various advantages of using an ERP system in an organization and some of those advantages are, helps in integrating all sorts of financial information into one system and helps in creating a unified financial reporting, ERP also integrates several of the supply-chain operations such as order taking, order management, manufacturing, and more (Jinno et al., 2017). Most of the ERM’s which are out there include customer relationship management (CRM), which helps in tracking customer issues, interactions, and various other aspects. ERP helps in automating tasks, provides a standardized HR platform for reporting, tracking, monitoring skills, exchange information, and more.
