I live in Georgia. My degree is in Healthcare Administration. I have worked in the medical field for over 30 years. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my 3 grandsons. I decided to go back to school to obtain my degree as a job requirement. I currently work in a call center at a hospital in Georgia. I am also and have been an advocate for the Developmentally Disabled for 20 years. My goal once I earned my degree is to continue the work within the healthcare systems. I am hoping to help make a change for those with low incomes. I hope to do this by helping to create policies to help them with affordable insurance or care so that they can continue with follow-up care to keep them safe and healthy.
What I hope to gain in this course is to build on the already skills and knowledge I have about the healthcare system so that I can effectively reach those who live in rural areas. I would like to help those with low social-economic status (SES). By providing ways for them to travel back and forth to doctors and be able to afford high-quality healthcare.
As far as Case Study 2.1 "Capturing the Older Adult Market" I believe the RMC in part chose the correct option to get the attention of the targeted audience. The targeted audience was those who were 50-65 the baby boomers. Mailers can be effective, however; most people look at them as junk mail and throw them away. As far as radio, and tv ads, social media I believe these would be most effective. The way we communicate and technology has changed throughout the years. On “April 3, 1973, Martin Cooper, a Motorola researcher, and executive, made the first mobile telephone call from handheld subscriber equipment, placing a call to Dr. Joel S. Engel of Bell Labs.” This was the beginning of a new way to communicate which then open the door for other means. I believe that the RMC felt this generation was tech savvy that is why they chose to target this audience.

I live in Los Angeles, California. I am a full-time student at SNHU working on obtaining my bachelor's in Healthcare Administration. I work as an optician with experience working both in private and retail for the optical field. I am a homebody that enjoys watching movies, tv shows, and reading books. I enrolled at SNHU because I want to work up the company ladder and eventually become a market manager. Marketing is researching, planning, and developing an idea to promote it. Good marketing is essential for a business to be successful. What I hope to gain from this course is to build and polish my knowledge. Case Study 2.1, the Regional Medical Center saw a business opportunity in healthcare by targeting baby boomers. "The service line was designed to meet the emerging needs of this population for specialty services such as cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and urology in a way that would be appealing to this relatively demanding consumer segment." (Thomas, 2020) The marketing department targeted baby boomers by advertising in newspapers, radio stations, television, and even electronic media that they preferred to use. I believe the use of radio stations and tv ads was the most successful. They were able to see and hear what the RMC was offering and the benefits available.
