Title of Paper: Self-Awareness
A basic research paper consists of an introduction, body, and conclusion. The introductory paragraph presents the topic of the paper and typically summarizes the main points and ends with a thesis. The body of the paper covers the main points and normally includes citations to sources that support the author’s claims and information. Papers should end with a conclusion. Conclusions normally summarize the main points that were addressed, without introducing new content.
Example of Level 1 Heading: Areas of Strengths and Weaknesses
Not all papers require Level 1 or Level 2 headings or both, but we have included them as a visual example. Remember to change this template so its information applies to you and to your classes. Keep the paragraphs indented and double spaced; do not switch to block paragraphing.
In this area you will use the self-assessment that you took to identify your areas of strengths. You should indent and begin the criteria (section) with an introductory sentence such as: From taking the Self-assessment, the areas of strength identified were…then name the area or areas you found to be your strengths. For example, if you found relationship management to be your area of strength you would begin the paragraph with an introductory sentence such as: From taking the Self-assessment, the areas of strength identified was relationship management. You would then introduce relationship management (or the area that you found to be most surprising) with information that you have accumulated from the readings within the modules. This will also include the supplemental reading links provided at the end of each section of module one. You will support your research conducted with in-text citations, using the research provided or any of your own that you found using appropriate websites, so basically anything that is NOT a .com. For example: Relationship management is crucial for both personal well-being and professional success. At its core, effective relationship management involves understanding, navigating, and nurturing interactions with others. Strong relationships, whether with family, friends, romantic partners, or colleagues, contribute significantly to our sense of belonging, support, and overall happiness (Woods, 2025) Note: Try to use only websites that have an article with a author’s name and date of publication as you begin to build your skill in research writing. The in-text citation must match the article provided on the reference page.
Indent and begin the second half of the criteria. Areas that were found to be weak. For example: The areas that were found to be of weakness included self-management (or the area(s) that you found to be areas of weakness or improvement from the self-assessment that you took). Introduce the areas with information and facts that are summarized from the reading within the module and from the supplemental reading provided at the end of each section. You will also support this section with the relevant research conducted. This can come from the articles linked in the module, your faculty instructor’s live lectures, your faculty instructor’s supplemental information placed in the announcements, or any website that is not a .com A good place to look for scholarly research articles outside of the university’s library PROQUEST, or EBSCO databases would be Google Scholar. For example: Self-management refers to your ability to understand and control your own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors effectively in various situations. It's about taking responsibility for your actions, setting goals, and making conscious choices that align with your well-being and objectives (Woods, 2025). The in-text citation would have to match the article used on the reference page. Do not forget to add a personal example within your writing as this assignment is reflective. It is appropriate to use words such as I, me, us, we, ours, etc.
Example of Level 2 Heading: Areas Most Surprising
Remember that you should delete the “Example of Level 2 Heading” as it does not apply to your assignment. Remember to change this template so its information applies to you and to your classes. Keep the paragraphs indented and double spaced; do not switch to block paragraphing.
In this criterion you will discuss the areas that you found to be most surprising based off the self-assessment that you took. This area could be an area that you scored low in, but you were expecting the scores to be higher, or this area could be discussing an area that you scored high in and was expecting a low score. For each criterion that you write, the over-arching theme will come from the self-assessment results. You will also support this section with the relevant research conducted. This can come from the articles linked in the module, your faculty instructor’s live lectures, your faculty instructor’s supplemental information placed in the announcements, or any website that is not a .com. A good place to look for scholarly research articles outside of the university’s library PROQUEST, or EBSCO databases would be Google Scholar. Do not forget to add a personal example, as this assignment is reflective. It is also appropriate to write in first person and use words such as: I, me, we, us, our, etc. in your writing.
Example of Level 2 Heading: Areas of Least Surprise
Remember that you should delete the “Example of Level 2 Heading” as it does not apply to your assignment. Remember to change this template so its information applies to you and to your classes. Keep the paragraphs indented and double spaced; do not switch to block paragraphing.

For each criterion that you write, the over-arching theme will come from the self-assessment results. For example, you may be least surprised that you scored low in social awareness, as you are aware that you have always had issues with taking time to understand and listen to others. You will provide a full paragraph or more regarding social awareness; you will also support this section with the relevant research conducted.

In this area of the paper, you will discuss the areas identified from the results of the self-assessment taken for professional growth and development. For example, you may have identified the area of self-awareness, as you had never sought out feedback or constrictive criticism from others. You will provide a full paragraph or more regarding the area that you identified from the self-assessment results; you will support this section with the relevant research conducted.
