Using data to inform my decisions in creating and supporting effective educational practices has always been a practice of mine. The difference now is that I will add the process of sharing data with the other organizations involved. Sharing data with the partners involved allows for the creation of a shared meaning for change (Fullan, 2016). With the shared meaning for change in mind, the data collected between organizations will inform our change efforts and lead to meaningful and sustainable change.
I would envision myself becoming an educational agent of change by going through many change cycles to perfect my change efforts. Every issue is different and causes different responses. I say this to highlight the need for me to go through many different change cycles in order to be responsive to each issue and need of the program and community. Meaningful and sustainable change is the goal. Long-term change with lasting effects depends on the use of the appropriate features of social change (Callahan et al., 2012). As an educational education agent of change, I will be able to use this knowledge gained to implement the appropriate features of social change that will provide the best outcome for meaningful and sustainable change.
Following graduation, I will set professional goals that will impact children, students, and my community. The goals that I will set will be in direct alignment to the needs of young children and their families. I believe that by setting professional goals, I will continue to leave my mark on the field of early childhood education while attaining my personal professional goals.
Goal 1: Become an active member of Georgia’s Association for the Education of Young Children (GAEYC) and participate in their advocacy efforts.
Goal 2: Create a new program within my current division and connect with other organizations within my community to promote early language and literacy initiatives within the community.
Goal 3: Connect with the school systems within my community to share data trends on language and literacy development. Analyze the shared data and engage in the educational change process to produce meaningful and sustainable change.
The views expressed throughout each of the learning resources has challenged and influenced my views on what change is and the processes necessary for it to be effective. The true goal is sustainable and meaningful change. Sustainable and meaningful change can only come about when each party that will be affected by change is a part of the process, has the ability to reflect on changes needed by sharing and assessing their data, and with this knowledge, develops and undergoes the change process under a shared meaning and vision (Callahan et al., 2012; Fullan, 2016). The understanding and implementation of this process is what contributes to true change. Many change efforts are in response to immediate needs. We tend to create temporary solutions to long-term problems. Walden University’s mission of creating knowledgeable social change practitioners is in direct alignment to the need for shared knowledge in order for true change to occur. I believe that the social aspect of change refers to societal structures and community. We must understand how the issue in need of change affects each level of society and each organization of the community. This comes through the social change features of reflection, systems thinking, and collaboration. With the information gathered throughout this course, I will be able to share this knowledge with others and engage in positive social change processes to become a true practitioner of social change within my current program and community.

Becoming an Agent of Change
Use Data to Inform Decisions in cCeating and Supporting Effective Educational Practices
I will share data with other educators to get their perspectives on improving educational practices. This is because stakeholders can provide valuable insights into the data that can help educators to make improvements to educational practices. Additionally, data can be used to assess the impact of educational practices on student outcomes. Data-driven decision-making is an integral part of creating and supporting effective educational practices. I will continue to use data to assess the impact of educational practices on student outcomes.
Becoming an Educational Agent of Change my Future Professional Practice
I envision myself being change agent in the educational sector in my future professional position by continuing to use data to create and support functional educational practices. I will also examine my social change profile and how I can become an agent of change. I will use the knowledge and skills I have acquired to positively impact the students, teachers, and the educational system (Fullan, 2016). I will share my knowledge and expertise with others to help them understand the potential of data-driven decision-making to improve educational outcomes. I will disseminate information about data-driven decision-making in education to a broader audience.
Goals that I will set for myself Following Graduation to Impact Children, Students, and my Community
As an advocate for data-driven decision-making, I will work to ensure that data is used to inform educational decisions at all levels. This includes decisions about instructional methods, curriculum, and assessment. I will work to increase the use of data in educational decision-making by providing training and support to educators on how to use data effectively. I will also work to create and disseminate resources on the use of data in education. I will ensure that all children have access to high-quality education by working to improve access to early childhood education, K-12 education, and college education. I will also work to improve the quality of education by advocating for increased funding for education, improved teacher quality, and increased parental and community engagement in education (Callahan et al., 2012). I will improve the quality of teaching in our schools by advocating for increased funding for professional development and improved teacher training. I will also work to create and disseminate resources on effective teaching practices. I will reduce the achievement gap by improving access to high-quality education for all children, regardless of background or income level. I will also work to improve the quality of education by advocating for increased parental and community engagement in education. I will improve the school climate and culture by creating a positive and supportive school environment that is conducive to learning. I will also work to increase communication and collaboration among all stakeholders in education. I will work to improve communication and cooperation among all stakeholders in education by working to create and implement strategies for involving all stakeholders in the educational process. I will also work to develop and disseminate resources on effective communication and collaboration strategies. I will work to reduce testing and increase opportunities for authentic assessment by working to create and implement alternative assessment methods that provide a more accurate measure of student learning.
How Walden’s Mission and Vision, The Goals in the Callahan et al. (2012) paper, and Fullan’s (2016) Thoughts on Educational Change will Influence my Views and Practices in the Future
Walden's mission is to provide a high-quality education to underserved populations. The vision is to create a more just and equitable world. The Callahan et al. paper aims to increase access to education, improve educational quality, and close the achievement gap. Fullan's thoughts on educational change emphasize the need for a systemic approach to change that engages all stakeholders. These perspectives will influence my views and practices in the future by reinforcing the importance of equity and access in education and the need to take a systemic approach to change. The sources above will also influence my views and practices in the future by reinforcing the importance of data in driving positive social change. Hargreaves & Ainscow’s ideas about leading from the middle emphasize the need to build capacity and create conditions that allow others to lead. This perspective will be helpful in my future work as an educational leader.
