Synthesis Paper – Leadership Style

You will use the Module 2 assignment as you prepare to your write your Module 4 paper.

1. Locate the template that I have provided for this assignment. It is attached in several places in the course including within the announcements.

2. Choose three of the five articles from the Module 1 and 2 readings for your annotations. You should provide both summary and critical analysis within annotations and each annotation should be between 250-350 words.

NOTE – the Spector article really is only a single page.

3. Choose a leadership style as a context for your Module 4 paper. Leadership styles you might consider – Servant Leadership, Transformational Leadership, Transactional Leadership, Situational Leadership, Adaptive Leadership, Path-Goal Leadership, LMX, or Distributive Leadership (we do not cover this one in the course but it is a theory that is used quite frequently).

4. Construct your outline for the Module 4 paper. Remember, the topic of the paper is not an overview of the particular leadership style you choose but rather specific traits from the readings that contribute to that style.

5. Identify three specific traits of your leadership style (examples include but are not limited to motivation, compassion, decision making ability, creativity, charisma, etc.) and synthesis, even in the outline, how the articles addressed that specific trait. You do have to include at least one in-text citation from each of the articles for each of the traits to show me that this is truly common. If it is only in one or two of the articles, then it is not a common theme.

6. In the outline only, include two additional scholarly articles that support your themes. These two additional articles may relate to only one of your themes and that is fine for the additional articles only.
